In August of 2023, Mackinac's Little Gallery was purchased by Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Island's beloved family-owned and award-winning resort.
Originally opening in 2012 by island resident and local artist Becki Barnwell, Mackinac’s Little Gallery has been providing the area with works by regional artists depicting scenes of Mackinac Island. These include local vignettes of Round Island Lighthouse, the mighty Mackinac Bridge, dock porters, fudge makers, carriage drivers and the Island's spectacular gardens.
A variety of styles and mediums are featured at Mackinac's Little Gallery, including works in oil, acrylic, batik, watercolor, collage, pastel, graphite, block print, and ceramic sculpture.

Meet the Team
Gallery & Boutique Retail Manager
With over two decades of experience in retail, Megan brings a vibrant blend of professionalism, creativity, and heart to Mission Point Resort’s Chairished Moments Boutique and Mackinac’s Little Gallery. Her journey began at age 15 with a love for connecting with people through thoughtful retail experiences.
After dedicating time to raising her family and supporting her spouse’s academic journey in Washington State, she spent six years in West Texas serving adults facing life-controlling challenges. In 2015, she returned to her home state of Michigan and began pursuing her lifelong dream - working and thriving on Mackinac Island.
Today, she continues to grow in her role, combining a passion for design, music, and artistic expression with the everyday magic of island life. Ever curious, she’s committed to learning and applying new ideas daily, infusing her work with fresh inspiration, warmth, and creativity.
Gallery Associate
Reece is excited to join the gallery as a Gallery Associate this season. Originally from Raymore, Missouri, and now based in Lee’s Summit, she recently graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Creative Writing, a minor in Art, and a certificate in Editing and Publishing. Reece brings a fresh perspective, a love for storytelling, and a passion for creativity to the team.
In addition to her academic background, Reece enjoys working across various artistic mediums including drawing, photography, and collage. Music - especially rock and folk - plays a big role in her creative inspiration, with The Strokes being a longtime favorite. With a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for diverse artistic expressions, Reece looks forward to engaging with visitors and sharing her insights about the Gallery’s collection.
