Alyson Champ
Alyson Champ was born and raised in the Chateauguay Valley, southwest of Montreal, Quebec. She studied painting and drawing at Vanier College, The Saidye Bronfman School of Fine Art, and Concordia University, all in Montreal, Quebec. Winner of numerous awards, Alyson regularly participates in both local exhibitions, juried and invitational shows across North America. Both oil painter and collage artist, Alyson is best known for her treatment of equine subjects. Champ's interest in collage grew out of her experiences teaching art to children.
From her earliest experiments in the classroom several years ago, collage making has gradually evolved to become Champ’s preferred means of creative expression. She is also an Associate Member of the prestigious American Academy of Equine Art based in Lexington, Kentucky. Alyson Champ’s artwork is found in private and corporate collections all over the world.
“My sources of inspiration remain those things which are all around me and are dearest to my heart: animals, the flowers of my garden and the lush, sacred beauty of the natural world.”
