Kevin Barton
Kevin lives in Petoskey, MI, and has managed to become one of northern Michigan’s most well collected artists with his works hanging in collections across the nation. His unique impressionist style is reminiscent of Vincent Van Gogh with the addition of current, local Michigan scenes and people. Depicting local northern Michigan and Florida scenes, Barton enjoys showcasing the people, their activities, and the atmosphere of the environment.
Barton has painted for Mackinac’s Little Gallery since it opened in 2012. The familiar scenes of Mackinac Island’s people and places are of interest to him. Barton likes to capture the little moments of life on the island. His work can be seen at Crooked Tree Art Center, Petoskey; Mackinac’s Little Gallery, Mackinac Island; and Twister Fish in Elk Rapids, MI.
“I enjoy capturing the specific details of a subject, yet I want people to know they are looking at a painting. I want it to have style almost like a world made of paint.”
